To everything there is a season

Turn, turn, turn.

A time to plant, a time to harvest.

I woke up today thinking it was time to turn the garden over, pull out the failed plants, and sow my garlic. After all, my garlic has been here for over two weeks anxious to get in the ground. But the bed that will receive the garlic has an abundance of happy marigolds and until they give up, I won’t turn them in. Even if it means planting my garlic a little late, when it’s a little colder for me.

Peppers are still thriving. My habaneros are mostly all orange, I have a red pepper, several poblanos, and jalapeños to my hearts delight. And a few tomatoes are still showing up to be part of dinner tonight.

Fall is my favorite season for many reasons, and the resilience of my plants, despite some cold nights, is a reminder of how resilient we all really are.
