This year was not a banner year for the garden. We had several heat waves, long spells without rain, and distractions at home that kept me from making a lot of extra effort. However, it wasn’t all a wash. This morning I harvested the rest of my potatoes and can say that this is the best potato harvest we’ve had yet!
I also grabbed a few cayenne peppers off a stem that had fallen over from their weight. While I know these should eventually turn red, considering we are into October, I’m happy to incorporate some green cayennes into our meal today.
And finally, a few tomatoes are still making their way to red. I grabbed two Jet stars and a handful of cherry tomatoes to also incorporate into our meal.
