Part 1: Knitting the Chevron Cloud wrap

A few weeks ago I visited my local yarn store with a gift card in hand. I wanted to challenge myself a little, but not so much that I’d be in over my head. My knitting skills are still intermediate at best. I was lead to a chevron wrap (which met my “anything but another scarf” criteria, albeit only by a hair). The pattern involved two yarns and a fun chevron print that I was assured would be within my skillset.

It took awhile to cast on and get the pattern down, but once I got it memorized I’ve been rolling for the past two weeks and hope to have it finished in time for our mini fall getaway up to Connecticut.

The pattern is by Espace Tricot and called Chevron Cloud. I will post a “Part 2” to show off my finished work.

And note that my creative philosophy is on full display here. The various tied off areas you see are thanks to my dog playing with my yarn when I mistakenly left it unattended. It took me TWO hours to re-wind my yarn and I had to give up and cut it several times where the knots were just too much to tackle. I will be sewing in these ends at the end of the project and anything that doesn’t look perfect, I’m chalking up to, “now you can tell this is handmade.”
